Customized World Map Locator was designed to help Macromedia users (formely Macromedia, now Adobe) place custom locations on the global maps, for example:

• Corporate Office locator, featuring company offices worldwide (Contact pages)
• Dealer or Store Locator (Gateway, or a click through map)
• Hotel Chain and Travel Map
• Educational and Historical Map (featuring places and events on the World map).

Adding location is so easy that even 5 year old child can do that. Simply copy existing location, move to the place you need and change instance name - it is used on the mouse over and click events. You can also pick up a different type of locations or develop your custom location symbol.

World Map Layers

We deliver only ready-made map templates: All mapping shapes and outlines in every map are stored in separate properly-named objects to make customization possible in a minute.All World countries are stored as separate object instances with appropriate names. Different object layers are distributed into layers.

Frame: One pixel hairline frame around the map

Cities: Layer with locations. Every location is differentiated with its intance name.

country_shape: All world countnry map outlines. Country objects are called after a country name (example: France, Germany, Canada) and includes 2 objects inside ('l' for outline and 's' for shape).

longlat_grid: static layer with longitude / lattitude meter grid (can be toggled on for better orientation on the world map)

You obtain a complete control over map look and feel, by changing color RGB and Alpha transparency options for specific countries as well as default values. Example:

Customized Location Symbols

You can pick up existing location symbols or design your custom location symbols (with consistent movieclip structure) following simple rules:

• Location should be a movieclip with two frames (regular and mouse over state)
• Location includes:
  • movieclip titled 'icon' for Zoom controller (to keep size constant)
  • movieclip titles 'label' with text field inside, titled 'ctyName' (to render location name dynamically).

FlashEffects! New!

FlashEffects is set of additional graphics and ActionScript functions you can easily adjust for your needs that make this map template load and serve more consistent and accurate.

• preloder: Visualize loading process for slow connection users
• randomization: random visualization of states, one by one, once the movie is loaded
• fade-in: dynamic fade-in effect for a set of layers after the states show up.
• Attach_sound: Assign sound effects for mouse over and press effects to states and cities.

Mega Zoom ! New!

MegaZoom control is a flash map zooming component based on simplicity in functionality. It has three mostly often used controls: Zoom In, Zoom Out, and Pan tool to navigate the map. You may try it by clicking "view demo" at the top of the page.

Define Location URL

For your convenience we have already implemented a way to define mouse press URL, and it will take you a minute to redefine it:

• Set up a custom URL for each location:
